Mag swipe - denied

Tried a transaction on the Washington DC Metro to top up a travel card.

The machine was one of those that reads the magnetic strip on the card. Swiped the card, was asked to enter a PIN, then got a ‘Transaction Denied’ message. Tried this a second time with the same result.

No notification of a failed transaction in the App.

Are all mag stripe transactions automatically denied, or can something be done to enable them ? (eg. On the Monzo app you can temporarily enable the Mag Strip for transactions)

Could you get in touch with us at support@curve.app? They’ll be able to see what type of Magstripe decline it was. It’s not currently possible to enable/disable the Magstripe on your Curve card.
